Free is better

I LOVE free things. I am very stingy with my money when it comes to things that I feel I can either make, do, or create myself such as decor, crafts, and even things like manicures. So I decided to give myself "expensive" looking nails, for free!

| Ring & Bracelet- H&M | Necklace- Forever21 | Watch- Charity Jewelry sale | Nails- by me :) |

| Heels- Forever21 |
Plus, my mom took me out for ice cream (free+yummy!)

| Pants- Zara | Shirt- TJ Maxx | Purse- Thrifted |

| Soft-serve ice cream from Emge's |
Enjoy!

Crafty Wolverines

Pinterest is the best for fun unique gift ideas! My boyfriend is a HUGE Michigan Football fan,
 Go Wolverines!
I mean seriously...this is his room (clearly we do not live together)
Anyways...I saw a tutorial for homemade coasters and I thought..I can definitely tweak this awesome idea and tutorial and make it a great gift!
I followed the tutorial pretty much exactly, except when they just used pieces of scrapbook paper I created designs using scrapbook paper, construction paper, and an Xacto knife to cut.

Felt on the bottom for protection!
Finished Product!!
I used A LOT of Mod Podge and Acrylic Sealer...but if I was doing it again, I would use a ton more. I mean, drinks are being set on these, so with condensation and spills you will need a lot of sealer and water resistant coating.
But..he loved them!! And no one else will ever have these awesome Michigan coasters!!

Fruit Pizza

We had a Picnic Themed food day at work and my contribution was Fruit Pizza! It is pretty easy, and always a hit. Everyone has different ways to make it, but here is mine (be prepared I'm not into using "perfect" measurements)!
Ingredients:
Sugar cookie dough (I went with the classic, Pillsbury)
1 "block" of Cream Cheese (low fat tastes just as good!)
Cool-whip...you will use about half of the container (once again low fat is still great!)
Vanilla Extract..about 1 teaspoon
Powdered Sugar...as much as your little heat desires
and FRUIT! any kind you would like!

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 Degrees
Step 2: Spread sugar cookie dough out on a pan or baking sheet (you can use any shape!)
Step 3: Place cookie in oven and cook for about 10min, or until golden brown & yummy looking
Step 4: While your "crust" is cooking you can make your "sauce."
Mix together the entire (softened) block of cream cheese and about half of your cool-whip.
(Using an electric mixer really speeds up the process)
Step 4.5: Add in about 1 teaspoon of Vanilla extract
This is also when you can add in powdered sugar...I just pour some in, mix it, taste it, pour more in...
Step 5: Cut up whatever fruit you decide to use.
If you are using any canned fruit such as pineapple or mandarin oranges make sure to take them out of the juice and let them "drain" a little (you don't want soggy toppings!)
Step 6: Once your "crust" is done let it cool for a few minutes then spread your sauce covering the entire pizza/cookie. Make it as thin or thick as you want. (If you have left over sauce it makes an awesome fruit dip by itself!)
Step 7: This is where the magic happens....add your toppings!! Feel free to add them in any design, shape, or pattern.
And now you have your very own Fruit Pizza masterpiece!!
(I sometimes add some more powdered sugar on top right before I serve it..for some added sweetness, and because it looks pretty!)

I hope everyone enjoys this! Just typing this made me want to go make one!

Want a cake, but don't wanna bake...

I wanted to make a cake for my mom but didn't have time to bake and let it cool and all that, plus she like lighter desserts so I found this great NO BAKE cake! It's called "No Bake Strawberry Ice-box Cake" Find full instructions and ingredients here!
A few hindsight tips:
1. Whipping Cream is NOT the same as Cool-Whip
2. I used an egg slicer to slice my strawberries easily
3. The "whipping" is not a quick process, be prepared.

It isn't super quick but once you have it all together it just goes in the fridge for about 4 hours and presto! You have a great tasting light and fruity dessert!
I already have my next "Ice Box" cake plans in mind, a Banana Split Ice Box Cake!
