Being a little crafty

So like most people, I'm addicted to pinterest and I need to quit my job so I can craft. But since that can't happen I'll just try a few crafts when I get the chance.
This craft is a great excuse to drink a few bottles of wine! (which is half the fun) All you need is an empty glass bottle, glue (I tried a hot glue gun and regular Elmer's) I would suggest Elmer's because it goes on much more smoothly...it's obvious when you look at my bottles, and you will need some kinds of spray paint.

Choose a word or even a design you would like to put on the bottle. I did "Sweet" on one and "Dreams" on the other (a bday present for my sis who is redecorating her room). I drew it on in sharpie first so I could practice.

Then go over the sharpie with your glue. Hot glue gun dries a lot faster, but Elmer's is so much smoother looking. Let the glue dry about 24 hours...the Elmer's will run a little (I liked the drippy look but if you don't then just try to keep an eye on it in the beginning) you can also use a blow dryer on low and cold to help dry.

Okay so now you paint it. I put it on a long skinny stick so I could get all the way around it, but whatever works for you. It was super humid the day I painted (bad idea).

But it worked. I'm not a fan of the "sweet" bottle because that is the hot glue trial, but my sis still liked it.
And just for an extra I took another bottle, but rubber bands around it and spray painted. Let it dry then took off the rubber bands for a cool design. I'm gonna try this again with a matte clear paint so it looks like etched glass.

So this was a Pinterest trial. It worked out okay for my first time, but I'll be drinking more wine to be able to attempt again!
